Economic calendar
A macro news calendar inside the journal: economic events filtered by currency and impact, shown in YOUR time zone. Plan the session without leaving for another site.
The essentials
- Range tabs: last week, yesterday, today, this week and next week.
- Filter by currencies (USD, EUR, GBP…) and by impact: High, Medium, Low.
- Each event shows Actual, Forecast and Previous — the surprise between Actual and Forecast is what moves price.
How to read an event
- Impact
- High = can move the market violently (NFP, CPI, rate decisions). Medium and Low are usually noise unless the surprise is big.
- Forecast vs Actual
- The market prices in the forecast. If the Actual number comes out very different, that's where the volatility is.
- Previous
- The prior period's number — context to tell whether the metric is improving or worsening.
Tips
- Check the calendar before your session: if there's a High-impact release on your pair's currency, decide beforehand whether you trade the news or stay out.
- Combine it with your risk rules: many prop firms restrict trading minutes before and after high-impact news.
