Practice account as signal: multiply without risk
Use a practice account (which doesn't charge) as the copy master. Its signals replicate to all real slaves in the group — you multiply results without exposing additional capital.
The essentials
- Master = practice account of a propfirm platform (no payout, limited risk).
- Slaves = real / funded accounts that DO pay.
- Every master trade replicates to all group slaves according to the configured lot mode.
Setup
- Open a propfirm practice account (e.g. Top Step) — it's free and has no payout.
- In /copy-trading, create the group with the practice as master and your real accounts as slaves.
- Trade the practice with discipline; trades replicate based on each slave's lot mode (exact, fixed, proportional, risk_pct).
Why it works
Your master has no pressure to cash out, so you trade calmly and methodically. The replication brings that same calm to 3, 5 or 10 real accounts. If the practice generates $45,000 of profit in a month with low drawdown, that same curve (proportionally) appears in each slave of the group.
What to look for in the practice curve
- Low drawdown — no deep drops that compromise the curve.
- Sustained uptrend — no extreme upward spikes hiding erratic trading.
- Few consecutive losing trades.
- Coherent trade-by-trade R:R — don't offset one winner with 5 small losers.
Important
The practice account isn't a consequence-free sandbox — trading it poorly contaminates all your slaves. Treat it with the same rigor as a funded account.
